Bosnia and Herzegovina, summer 1997

A year has passed since the publication of my book, "Walking without Katherine", which tells the love story of Renato and Katherine in Sarajevo.

Many readers have asked me how the story has continued. How is Renato doing today? How is Katherine? Have the two met again? Are they still in Sarajevo at all?

I have not lost track of Renato. He is still working at the Italian Institute in Sarajevo, and we have became very close friends, often having coffee in the pastry shop next to the Begova-Mosque in the old quarter of Sarajevo. We have exchanged opinions about the current developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and, of course, I have also asked him about his relations with Katherine. I have recorded the developments that he told me in this volume, "A Gorazde Dream".

Summer 1997. I again visited all the venues which featured in the first volume, taking my camera with me. These photos provide answers to the questions posed in the first volume "What will things be like in a year?" Another sequel then emerged too, the sequel to the story which evolved during this last year, on the basis of a number of photographed details of the city of Sarajevo.
