I was woken by a text message:
OK pour ce soir à Fribourg. Je ne peux pas parler au téléphone maintenant, mais je t'appelle cet après-midi pour dire à quelle heure et où. Bonne soirée. P.
Patricia was a gallerist specialising in photography by Italian artists. A few months ago she had come to my institute to enquire about financial support for an exhibition. Our eyes had met for a long moment.
Oh, what a nice surprise! Patricia was back! That cheered me up. In the afternoon I received a second message from P.:
Caro Roberto, désolée, mais je devais ce soir régler qqch de très important et ce ne sera pas terminé avant minuit. J'espère que tu auras quand même une bonne soirée.
I was disappointed. It was as it had been before, when our eyes parted. Despite that, I went to Fribourg.
