At the brasserie "A la mort subite," which takes its name from a game, I read in a Belgian newspaper that the left shoe of a famous brand of trainers was manufactured in Vietnam, while the right shoe of the same brand was made in China, so that there could be no black market.
Incredulous, I looked down at my trainers!
I got up and went. First I ate in a Vietnamese restaurant, and then went to a Chinese one. Finally I went into an American bar, took my shoes off, and left them there.
